Almond + Fig is the widely beloved passion project of Palestinian chef Mai Kakish, whose social media storytelling celebrates love for the land and for her people, while preserving wisdom and recipes from her ancestral home.

Almond + Fig has built a large, loyal following over the years—people eager for kitchen wisdom preserved through generations of Palestinians, through occupation and appropriation, displacement and genocide. Mai shares family recipes alongside stories about her Teta, from her childhood home and about the land, all while advocating for liberation and the right to return. We threw ourselves into this process with our whole hearts and all of our skill, creating an identity that draws directly from Mai’s encyclopedic culinary knowledge and extraordinary perspective. The system weaves her words and worlds together into a brand that is at once nurturing and warm, commanding and rich. May her every word be heard and heeded.
